Vin Diesel is back as the see-in-the-dark sci-fi tough guy on a new planet this time!

  • 1. NOW YOU SEE ME:

Louis Leterrier (Transporter 2, The Incredible Hulk) directs an outstanding cast in which is either a magician movie with a heist included, or a heist movie with Magicians included. Jessie Eisenberg (The Social Network) is the smartest guy in the room as one of four magicians of various stripes who come together on a Las Vegas stage to perform an illusion that appears to be a bank robbery – in Paris – in real time. A trick – or a heist? That’s the problem for an FBI task force following the exploits of the group … terrific performance from Michael Caine, and a game-changer for Morgan Freeman. I loved this movie! Rated 14A.

  • 2. THE ICEMAN:

Double life, anyone? This is the true story of Robert Kulkinski, who, in the 1960s was persuaded by mob bosses to leave his job as a film technician in the porn business and become a contract killer. For more than 20 years he was a husband, a dad, and a family man – nobody suspected that when he went off to work, it was to whack people on a contract basis. Winona Ryder and Ray Liotta co-star ... and watch the stone killer make a fatal choice when his two worlds collide. Rated 18A.

“If you don’t have a life ... try somebody else’s.” That’s the tagline for this film about Wallace Avery (Colin Firth) who has screwed up his life totally. The divorce went badly, his kids hate him, and his work is a disaster. To escape, he fakes his own death and resurfaces with a new identity, that of Arthur Newman. Just as he’s getting his act back together, he meets Mike (Emily Blunt), and equally damaged woman with her own past problems. They begin a new way of life – taking on the identities of various couples that they encounter ... but soon, they long for what they used to be. Interesting character study, and a unique premise. Rated 14A.

Michael Caine’s anger in a key scene is the real thing .. the night before he was accidently locked into his dressing room when the crew and cast left … and we stayed there in the dark all night!

HEIST (2001):

Gene Hackman was at the top of his game in this terrific heist movie with great mob connections. Also stars Danny DeVito and Sam Rockwell.

A great legal thriller with Eric Bana

Fabulous car driving scenes – stars Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez.
