  • 1. HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA:

This animated feature made a bundle in theatres and is still showing in some of them. Dracula has an interesting sideline business, we learn, when he’s not out … you know, getting dinner. He runs a very high-end hotel in a secluded location where all the usual horror denizens come for vacation … Frankenstein’s monster, the Wolfman, the Fly, Quasimodo, you name them. On the biggest holiday weekend of the year for monsters, a human wanders into the establishment … a teenage boy who has fallen for Drac’s daughter. Voices included are those of Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Selina Gomez, and David Spade. Rated PG.

  • 2. PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4:

This franchise just never ends! So far it’s done $137 million against a $5 million budget ... and the DVD and download is just released! This one takes place after the action in the other three movies, and has Katie, who has committed a few murders, setting up house with Hunter, who was a baby in the earlier Paranormal movies, and is 11 years older now. New people move into the neighbourhood with a young child, and strange things begin to happen. Instead of a cheap movie camera, this one is told on iPhone and iPad footage – very clever to move the target demographic down into the Gen Y area. Rated 18A.

  • 3. SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS:

When Christopher Walken is in the cast, it doesn’t even matter who the other psychopaths are – he can carry the insanity all on his own! Colin Farrell plays a struggling screenwriter whose friends decide to make money by kidnapping ... and the target is the dog, a Shi Tzu belonging to an LA gangster. Great cast that includes the aforementioned Farrell and Walken, as well as Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, and Abbie Cornish. No dogs, we are told, were hurt in the making of this film. Rated 14A.

  • SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS:

This movie is worth it, despite its offbeat nature, because of two words: Christopher Walken! Written and directed by Martin Mcdonagh (In Brugers).

THE DEER HUNTER (1978):

Christopher Walken sets the future tone for his weirdness in the Michael Cimino (Heaven’s Gate) directed film about the impact of the Vietnam war on a small town in the States.

  • PARKER

Can’t beat Jason Statham as a tough criminal with a difference

  • HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS

Jeremy Renner is great as Hansel

  • MOVIE 43

Incredibly lewd and edgy movie … searching for the most lewd and edgy movie.
