Captain Jack Sparrow is back, this time searching for the Fountain of Youth
THE LION OF JUDAH
Animated 3D tale about farm animals with a problem.
1. THE MECHANIC:
Jason Statham is the lead in this action-thriller about a hitman who develops a relationship with the son of an operative who was taken out in an assassination. Ben Foster plays the son with a diabolical twist. A lot of car chases, shoot-em-ups, and some great action along with a significant twist as we try to determine who did what to whom. This is a revenge movie with an interesting curve ball. I liked it! Rated 18A.
2. THE WAY BACK:
Colin Farrell is amazing in this true story of prisoners in Gulag in Siberia at the beginning of WWII who decide to break out. We learn early on that it is not the barbed wire and the armed guards that will get you in Siberia … it’s the brutal weather and the incredible isolation – hundreds and hundreds of miles of nothing but snow and ice. But break out they do, a motley crew that includes Ed Harris and James Sturgess. The walk across Siberia and eventually cross Nepal headed for India and freedom. An amazing depiction of a challenge of world-class proportions. Rated 14A.
3. THE ROOMMATE:
Is it supernatural, or just super-weird? A gaggle of A-List young stars are featured in this tale of a college girl who gets a roommate who is exceptionally strange. Is she of this world, or does she just want to get other people out of this world? Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) and Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood) star, along with Billy Zane. Rated 14A.

4. RICK’S PICK: THE WAY BACK:
Although there are no big-budget car crashes and shoot-em-ups, this little movie with small distribution, tells an engaging story. Watch for an interesting role from Saorise Ronan (Hanna) who shows up in the most unusual of circumstances.
TAKERS:
Despite some serious plot holes, this is a pretty good thriller. Will you see the ending coming? Probably!
PRIEST
Gritty vampire VS humans fantasy sci-fi thriller set on an alternate world in a post-apocalyptic time with a great performance by Paul Bettany
BRIDESMAIDS
Kristin Wiig (SNL) is full value as the friend who wants to be the perfect maid of honour. Some ar calling this the female equivalent of “The Hangover.” Not me, but there are similarities!
