  • HALL PASS

From the Farrelly brothers, a “nudity and foul language” spring break movie starring Own Wilson
  • DRIVE ANGRY 3D

Nicolas Cage does just what the title says.  Did I mention spring break.

  • 1. MEGAMIND:

The best Will Ferrell movie I have ever seen … and maybe that’s because it’s just his voice behind a cartoon villain who wants to rule the world.  When he finally defeats his arch-enemy, Metro Man, a Superman-type do-gooder, he realizes that, with no one to fight, life is just dull.  So he creates another good-guy named Titan – who goes bad in an hurry, and now HE wants to rule the world.  Animated, with a storyline that is decidedly clever – adults will like it, kids too.  Voice of Brad Pitt is Metro Man. Rated PG.

  • 2. DUE DATE:

A gawd-awful mess that stars Zack Galifianakis and Robert Downy, Jr. as a pair of trains-and-planes-and-automobile types.  Downy’s character has to get home in a hrry because his wife will give birth by c-section on Friday.  A confrontation with Zack’s character on an airplane gets him thrown off and put on the no-fly list.  His wallet is gone, so he can’t rent a car … so guess who wants to give him a ride?  This one is just ugly and somewhat profane, and doesn’t contain a single character about which you can care.  Love RD,Jr., but not in this one!  Rated 14A.

  • 3. FOR COLORED GIRLS:

A good cast in a not-so-good Tyler Perry movie (although I must admit I am nowhere near the target audience) with Thandie Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, and Janet Jackson among others.  It’s the story of nine different women, some known to one another, others strangers, who go in and out of each other’s lives.  There is heartache, friendship and crime … but a little too much going on.  Rated 14A.

  • 4. MEGAMIND:

This film was based on the premise “What if Lex had defeated Superman?”

Despite some serious plot holes, this is a pretty good thriller.  Will you see the ending coming?  Probably!
