1. THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT:
Good cast, scary slasher flick! A lot of sadism in this film, with a rape scene that made me turn away – no need for that at all. Outside of that distasteful and unnecessary scene, this story of very bad people finding very good people at home alone in a remote vacation property is pretty standard fare. Monica Potter stars as the mom. Rated 18A.
2. “HANNAH MONTANA” THE MOVIE:
Not much more to say about this one – Miley Cyrus as Hannah gets a little too big for her blue jeans, so dad takes her out to a small town ranch so she can get back to her roots and learn what’s important – family, hard work … oh yes – and that cute guy! The tween-age girls just love this movie and they’ll want to own it. Rated G.
3. TYSON:
At age 20 he was the youngest world heavyweight champ ever … but within a few short years, he was biting off people’s ears, beating up his wife, and headed for rehab and jail. What happened? This is a documentary look with all the key players in place including Don King and Robin Givens. Rated 14A.

4. TYSON:
Not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you like boxing, and an insightful documentary. It got a 10 minute standing O at the Cannes Film Festival.

ROCKY (1976):
The backstory of Stallone having written the script, and insisting on being the star, is almost as good as the movie itself. |
