  • TERMINATOR: SALVATION

Christian Bale is John Connor all grown up and leading the Resistance in the future in this special effects extravaganza.
  • NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM:BATTLE OF THE SMITHSONIAN

Ben Stiller is back with an entire museum that again comes to life
  • 1. VALKYRIE:

Tom Cruise stars in this based-on-fact tale of a WWII plot to assassinate Adolph Hitler.  Despite the fact that history tells us this attempt by German Officer Col. Claus Von Stauffenburg failed, that doesn’t diminish the drama and the tension that develops as Von Stauffenburg and his group of conspirators try to change the course of history.  Rated 14A

  • 2. PAUL BLART: MALL COP:

Kevin James (King of Queens) is the title character here, a wannebe police officer who is relegated to patrolling a mall on a Segway.  This did monster numbers at the box office, and turns out to be a family-friendly comedy with some good laughs, a lot of pratfalls, and an interesting object lesson as well.  Adam Sandler’s company produced it – good fun!  Rated PG.

  • 3. MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D:

First, be warned that, despite the coloured glasses, 3D just doesn’t work well on the small screen.  The story here is about a coal mining accident that kills all the miners but one …when he wakens from a year-long coma, he goes on a killing spree … but that’s just the beginning.  A good one for slasher-movie fans.  Other than Kevin Tighe (Emergency) you won’t recognize most of the players. Rated 18A.

  • 4. MALL COP:

Kevin James co-wrote the script and did all his own stunts in this film.  It was shot in a shopping mall in Minnesota.  Good fun!
BEVERLY HILLS COP (1984):
Remember when Eddie Murphy used to be funny?  This is from the good old days … much of Murphy’s dialogue was improvised on the spot.  His scenes with Bronson Pinchot as “Serge” are particularly funny.
  • ANGELS AND DEMONS

I liked this better than the Da Vinci Code movie, although I liked the Angels and Demons book better.  Tom Hanks is at his best here as Robert Langdon, the symbologist who tries to save four Cardinals at the Vatican from assassination.
